It has a write strobe input and a FIFO full output, which might need
some simple logic to handshake with a standard LPT output. But you
wouldn't have to write any firmware for the USB microcontroller.
Indeed it should be pretty easy to use one of these it's pretty easy to
interface too, I have done so with a Dragon / CoCo. Plus they do them in
experementer friendly modules too DIP28 (or 24 can't exactly remember)
pinout as well.
