Of course you'd have to pay them: they have to take a # from
from their database, update their mfg systems, mail you
a
MAC address label...it's a service ans you should expect to pay!
IEEE charges about 3KU$ for a range of MAC addresses and entry.
Why not just buy a cheap machine from someone close to you
for 5 bucks, use the MAC address from it and get it over with ?

Anyone can look up OUI mac address vendors codes
online
http://standards.ieee.org/regauth/oui/oui.txt
Or, if it's on your own network - use 00-00-7D and make up the rest!
