Given that a lot of the stuff you want to program is
old, your best
bet may be an old programmer. I have a parallel-port interfaced
Xeltek unit run from DOS and it seems to do most of what I routinely
need to do.
Heck, my EPROM programmer of choice is my trusty Promenade, connected to
the Commodore 128.
