It SHOULDN'T be necessary to start with cheap tools, but I couldn't
afford anything else, and it sure taught me what I wanted and created
appreciation for good ones.
Back then, the cheap hand tools were AWFUL! And even the good ones
weren't much better than Harbor Freight is now. In the 1970s, Craftsman
got to be WAY worse than Harbor Freight is now (off-center broaching,
etc.).
