Relationships count. I've had such an employee search in the back room of the post
office to find a lost parcel while I waited.
It's amazing the level of service you can get from a postal employee if you
treat them like they're people, not drones there to do your bidding. :)
It's absolutely true, though as I usually mention here, it does
depend on the local post office. The workers here are generally
pretty nasty no matter how many smiles I give them, though in all
probability it may be because they are expecting the same kind of
behavior that entitled white people usually exhibit in that
particular post office.
That still doesn't explain why the carriers can't deliver our
mail correctly, but it may be a step towards the answer.
