When I was a kid, my father's manufacturing plant was just outside
the city on a major highway. Prime dumping grounds for "Muffin and her
litter of kittens".
If you had ever seen Muffin and her brood about a week after they
were tossed out of a car, you'd not speak of it so lightly. A cluster
of starving, dehydrated, parasite-infested kittens is a sight you never
forget.
