We've mentioned the breadboarding of the 6809 or 68000 design on the list
previously, but seeing it written up in a period article does make the whole
notion of breadboarding a new micro-processor design in TTL sound very quaint today.

Well for a ballpark figure I would double the 6800 transistor count.
2x microcode rom & 2x registers.
