A point of curiosity--who had the first *buffered* graphics display?
EDSAC? IIRC, bits in the sortage tanks could be displayed as an array of
points (was it 32*32 for 1K bits?) on a CRT screen. Presumably thsi was
done in hardware. OK, it was not _normally_ used for graphics, but I
heard there was a tleast one program that displayed some kind of patterns.
