Does anyone know of a source for a battery for an Apple Duo 230 laptop?
I've got a Duo, and got it working, but no battery (works on AC).
Ultimately, I'd like one battery "for show" that's all original
(don't care
if it works or not) and another I can "crack open" to restore/repair for
actual battery power use...
I've been watching various outlets for a while, and simply haven't
seen/found any..

Many battery packs of that time are nothing more than a bunch of NiCad sub-C cells. If we
could determine that it is such, I can build you one.
Can you bring one to the meeting today?

Unfortunately the Duo battery is not made of sub-C NiCads.
I rebuilt one a few years ago. I think it is NiCad, but they are a weird
size.

ISTR the later ones (there were three types, I / II / III), probably III
and shipped with the Duo 280 / 2300, were NiMH.
I have three dead batteries sitting here for a Duo 280c, but haven't found
the courage and round tuits yet to open one and see if it can be rebuilt.

I haven't specifically done a search but try Better Batt - I recently got a
battery pack there for an old HP laptop.

Their Apple batteries are listed here -

inquiry with them (you never know)
