I have stacks of duplicate BYTE magazines.
Would it be a sin to have them cut-up to be scanned, page-by-page?
I think they are common enough, at least the 80s ones, that a single
set can be sacrificed for scanning. Even the earlier ones aren't
rare, but they do fetch a few $ on ebay so one might have second
thoughts there.
Has anyone ever done this?
Many people are starting to scan and post magazines (
bombjack.org has
many Commodore mags, often the fulls runs, for download.) I scan
manuals and ad materials - I have not done magazines yet. I'd be
curious to know what techniques are out there for doing them.
They wouldn't be posted online, it would be for
personal research only.
Why not? Are Byte's owners still active in publishing?
