Does anyone have experience with the hpdrive project?
I'm wondering if the following card might work with it:

I'm not sure what chipset it uses, and I can't find info from the project page on
whether the hp card will work.

Yes. I set up a HP 2109E to run RTE-6/VM from an HPDrive pretending to
be a 7925H.

I have an ISA card or two that ought to work but have not tried yet
(yeah yeah/inertia/laziness/etc.) USB would be a dream.
