I have here an alignment disc from EMM 200TPI DIBIT patern.
It's a cartridge for a top loading drive like the CDC Hawk or DEC RL02.
The disc is new in box including original invoice from 1979.
It was stored in dry place inside the house, a quick visual inspection learn
that it seems to be in good state no corrosion.
I don't have any use for it (doesn't fit in my HP disc drives ;)
So it's for trade or a little beer money + shipping.
Trade is preferred..
I ship worldwide.
Oh yes, it is of cause AS IS no warranty etc.

OK.. I know it's not the favorite topic here but it *is* the right age!
Recently acquired some original IBM floppies that were probably
distributed with one of the various manuals that were available.
Problem is, which disk goes with which manual! Anyone aware of a list
of what software was shipped with what manual? Google wasn't much help.

I had to look up the "Exploring The IBM Personal Computer" disk (Google
Images)
The rest aren't all THAT long ago. At "the millenium", I was still
using 5150s, 5160s, and 5170s. What more do you NEED for disk format
conversion, programming, spreadsheets, text editing?
I've only got a few dozen more boxes from my office, before I can
start culling THOSE manuals (identifiable from a distance by color)

Not to worry - the
boxes in my mother's basement are all up off
of the floor, AND with a dehumidifier (40-45%), in case the spring
that feeds the Canyon Trail Branch of Baxter Creek resurfaces in
the rain today.

In addition to getting each disk into the correct manual, it is CRITICALLY
ESSENTIAL to use the correct slipcase!
They come in a couple of different widths, and labellings.
I have on hand right now, a 1.75"
"IBM Personal Computer Hardware Reference Library"
and a 1.75"
"IBM Personal Computer Software Library"
EMPTY slipcases. No manual. No disk. No hardware.
There might also be one spare 2.02 Guide to Operations (1983)!
But, I am not going to go check on it until the rain stops.

OK, the IBM slipcases for binders are claimed.
Inside the IBM binders were plastic pockets to hold disks. I have a bunch
of those. I don't know yet, whether they are identical or different from
the ones that IBM used. I'll try to check them tomorrow.
I received a contact from somebody who wants a large quantity of computer
books, and doesn't seem to care much about which ones. (decorating)
Therefore, check the list before it gets decimated for wall art.
And, thanks to a recent tip, I now have some boxes at more reasonable
cost!
