Rackmount MicroVAX II given to me by a local PCB manufacturer.
When I went to pick this machine up, it worked at their location. Booted
into VMS and everything. Took it out of rack to transport home (they
would not give up the original DEC rack). I marked all cables before
disassembling, and put it back together in the same configuration.
Got it home and the system would not get past the "3" stage of
its self test.
Any ideas?

It halts at 3 because the remaining parts of the
self-test are run after you select the boot device. B
or B followed by the primary boot device should begin
the boot process.

"3" displayed on the CPU control panel?
Did you get anything on the console terminal?
IIRC "3" means "sitting at boot prompt and awaiting commands".
Is the boot select switch on the CPU control panel in the "arrow"
position?
Is the break switch on the CPU control panel off? (The PROM halts at the
boot prompt when the break is enabled via this switch.)
