Not all that surprising, since Kildall based the CP/M commands and
syntax on RT-11 and then Seattle Computers based QDOS (later PC then
MS DOS) on CP/M. MSDOS didn't get fancy until somebody in that
department started looking at what the kids doing the Xenix stuff
had. And now there is no can large enough to put those worms back.
