Regrettably that did not help either, I think it is
something more
fundamental than that. Does the following tell you anything?
TCPIP> sh service ftp /fu
Service: FTP
State: Enabled
Port: 21 Protocol: TCP Address: 0.0.0.0
Inactivity: 5 User_name: TCPIP$FTP Process: TCPIP$FTP
Limit: 10 Active: 1 Peak: 3
File:
TCPIP$SYSTEM:TCPIP$FTP_RUN.COM
Flags: None
Socket Opts: Rcheck Scheck
Receive: 0 Send: 0
Log Opts: Acpt Actv Dactv Conn Error Exit Logi Logo Mdfy Rjct TimO Addr
File: SYS$SYSDEVICE:[TCPIP$FTP]TCPIP$FTP_RUN.LOG
Security
Reject msg: not defined
Accept host: 0.0.0.0
Accept netw: 0.0.0.0
My VMSfu is rusty, but that looks reasonable. What happens when you telnet
to port 21 from another host? You should get a message like
220 blah.foo.invalid FTP server ready
