Just for the records...
There's a jumper at least on some TurboChannel Alphas protecting
against flash overwrites. However, on basically all machines I've
seen, this jumper is in "allow write" position by factory default. A
friend of me acidentally corruptes his flash chips due to that fact,
so don't learn it the hard way and secure your machine after your
flash update :->
