From what I remember from the manual (have it
somewhere, can't find it
directly). it can not be a controller, only a device.
The manual shows the drawing of the IBM 370 console, not the FS diagrams
which I did check today.
The manual is not that thick, I'll have it scanned and pdf-ed and send it
to Al for archiving on bitsavers too.
Would any diagnostic need a bus & tag terminator? I happened to have
bought one of each a year ago on epay for just a few dollars.
Another thing, would these diags let the lamp panel show some status
of the diagnostic(s) when running?

BTW, the card decks I mentioned are the IBM side diagnostics. I don?t
Yes, I guessed that, and that is one thing I do not have with mine.
know if the DX-11 was always used this way, but
presumably at least one
mode is for the PDP-11 to look like a channel attached I/O device, so
I think that's the onyl mode of operation. All I'ce read suggests the
DX11 allows a PDP11 to be a peripjeral on an IBM system. I don't think
the DX11 can be a channel controller (or whatever the term for the host
 side is).
