how about the
plumb directive ?
A noble suggestion, but apparently an incorrect one.
ifconfig does not know 'plumb'. (You talkin' SunOS 4, specifically 4.0.1?)
My SunOS 4 install does not have a
'/etc/init.d/' directory, I don't
believe this is a SunOS 4 convention.
I have a copy of SunOS 414, but have yet to install it
( its targeted at some lowly IPX class stuff that is
boxed 2000 miles away but hasnt shipped yet )
And yes the older SunOS is BSDish, whereas the newer
stuff is sysV, but hey it was worth a shot
See if ifconfig -a dont list all interfaces
I see le0 a lot, but I picked up ie0 from my Sun
4/470, which I'm using on
the 386i. Is this an error on my part? Should I try and set up le0
instead?
you might see the device mentioned in dmesg too
The interface name is hardware dependent, le0 for example
is the builtin lance ethernet chip used on lots of sun4m hardware
