Personally I prefer using another system with better video as an X-Terminal. I use eXodus on my Mac to display the desktop on my one AlphaStation, that way I can get 24-bit colour, without spending the $$$'s for a better graphics card. It also has the advantage of not needing a monitor :^) In the case of your VAXstation 3100 M48, it will require a large monitor that you most likely will not be able to use on any of your other systems.
