This stems from a California reporter who got confused when talking to
collectors and printed in the newspaper that an Osborne 1 sold for over
$10,000. The collectors were actually talking about an Apple I, not an
Osborne 1 (an easy confusion for a layman to make).
Ok, that would make sense. It seems that this has become some sort of
urban legend, though -- I remember posts in afc like "I have an Osborne-1.
Make me an offer about $5000." :-)
