Is there a list? I have a couple of boxes of RSX-11 distro tapes and
RL02 from the 1980s that have been stored indoors but I've made no
attempt to read because I figured there was nothing unique about them.
None of it is especially old (c. 1982-1988, IIRC), but I'm happy to
contribute to fill any gaps in the historical record. I am presently
set up to read 1600 bpi, but I don't have any gear set up to read 800
bpi (I have a couple of Kennedy 7"/DEC TS03 transports but they
haven't been spun up in decades, nor am I entirely sure where my TMB11

seems to be lost or corrupted (e.g. the FORTRAN and BASIC tapes on
Tim Shoppa's trailing-edge site are probably all there, but the
blocks are out of order presumably because someone ran the tape
dump with the wrong error recovery settings).
I'm always interested in RSX-11 stuff. I had the hardest time
figuring out where a working tape image of 4.6 was, for instance
(which is odd, considering that I think I finally found it on
I have *a lot* of RL01/2 and RK05 media some (10-15%) of which is DEC S/W
distribution media. I haven't had time to catalog much less image any
of it yet.
While 10-15% doesn't sound like a lot, when you have ~100 RL packs and
~250 RK packs it adds up. ;-)
