A friend and I wrote a game for 6502 machines. Versions exist for BBC B, Acorn Electron and C64. The load module in each case is 20k bytes. I haven't got a full list of time taken to load - must do that sometime! - but on the Commie 64 it was one minute on the 1541 and SEVEN minutes on the tape (same tape system as PET, BTW - among other things, saved everything twice.) The BBC disk system was much faster - but you only got 100K or so on a disk, and a file had to occupy a contiguous chain of blocks. Philip.
