Hello all,
I have a 11/73. The disk is a Maxtor 2190.
How to create an Image of the contents of this disk?

That's an RD54, right? MFM drive? Good luck finding much to talk to it. I'm
a bit surprised you still have a running example! If you have a Q-bus VAX
around with RQDX3, you could hook the drive up there, boot say, NetBSD from
some other media and use 'dd' to clone the drive.
I suppose you could also use Minix on an old PC that had an MFM/RLL
controller in it and get to 'dd' that way... but IIRC, those 8-bit ISA
MFM/RLL disk controllers were always finicky about drives...
Can you back up to TK50 or something? I'm sure those old cartridges aren't
much less dodgy than an RD54 at this point in time...
Just some thoughts.

Replace the PDP-11 CPU and RAM
with a VAX CPU and RAM, preferably KA-650
/ KA-655, plug in a DELQA if there is none, netboot NetBSD, dump with
dd(1) using the "noerror" and "sync" options.
At least thats what I would do.

Unfortunately the network boot loader / mop image / mopd was broken in
some releases and I can't remember which one. You probably wane use some
older release like 1.5 or 1.6 anyway due to a smaller memory footprint.

I believe the more recent NetBSD versions set the boot load address to an
unhelpful location for smaller machines (which obvious needs to be fixed).
Not that that is directly relevant to this, so would agree with the 1.6
suggestion :)
