Yes, this belongs here because these discussions involves those
RT/CMOS modules are also used in classics including some early
PS/2's.
After about 10 years the batteries go flat. The
official thing to do is
to replace the complete unit, but the older ones are hard to find now,
and even if you do find them they might be old stock and thus have
dead batteries.
Actually much less. I have seen 2 or 5 years old boards with Dallas
and dallas clones go flat.
