Warning. There may be some legal entanglements here. This seller (Jerry
Williams) agreed to sell me these systems over negotiations last week and,
asked me to send in a deposit check which I did, and since then I have not
been able to get any response from him. 2 days later, he starts this
auction. I'm about to contact Ebay's Fraud unit and any other fly ointment
I might be able apply. That dickhead...

Yeah, I was also talking to him about buying the collection, though I
hadn't gotten as far as Mike. He told me someone had offered him $400 and
asked if I would offer more (which I was going to, but was trying to
figure out how I would pay for it all ;)
I think this is a case of someone not knowing what he had on his hands and
then realizing he could make quite a bit of money, and acted completely
unethically about it (I have nothing to complain about, but Mike surely
does).
Mike, if you need help leaning in on this guy, let me know and I'll see
what I can do to help.
BTW, you'll recall this guy first came to our attention thanks to Al
Kossow, who posted his e-mail address to the list. I'm sure Mike and I
weren't the only ones making offers ;)

You guys do realise that there's probably no recourse unless this
dunce cashes Mike's check, right? eBay *might* make him pull this
auction, but there's nothing to keep him from returning the deposit &
relisting in 2 weeks.

Maybe you need to put in a $10,000,000 bid on the auction to screw up his
plans - after all, you've already agreed on a different purchase price.

Well... I finally heard back from the umm, seller... And I should be
getting my check returned.
Disposition wise, he said he'll just relist the mini's individually starting
at $200 apiece if they don't sell this time under ebay's current auction of
them.
At this point, I'm stepping away from this asshole and wish anyone else who
decides to deal with him more luck that I found. They are great machines.
Oh well... Anyone else have a DG1200? I have a few semi-unattached jumper
wires on its control board that I'd like to cross-reference...

That guy has now raised the minimum bid on the collection. With no
bids and 5 hours to go, I bet he's figuring out a minor detail. To wit:
that anyone in the world who might want that whole collection knows the
people he screwed.

Perhaps some of the people interested in this that he screwed, would be
willing to go together with others and get just the pieces they want? I'd be
interested in the 11/05's and the HP 2114B for sure, and perhaps the nova's.
I'd have no interest in the rest.
