Hello there to the list,
can any of the DEC-enthusiasts help me out in identifying what seems to be a front panel /
door from DEC?
It was part of a lot with RK07 drives, but this panel does not fit into any of the RK07
cabinets.

I can be mistaken, but there might be variations on the rear side of the
RK07
cabinet. I am sure I have seen that version (and may have it). At the moment
I
can not check, but it might also be the rear panel for the RM80 drive, which
is
housed in a similar cabinet as the RK07.

I think it's definitely a rear door - my first thought was the back of a
VAX-11/780 Unibus cabinet, but it doesn't curve forward enough at the top nor does it
have the VAX's door fasteners. -- Ian

I think he may be correct. To me it looks like the top panel/cover for a
SC008 star coupler cabinet (the vents would go towards the rear). Mine is
behind a ton of stuff in my storage building and has a bunch of Compaq
gear on top of it, so unfortunately I can't measure it to double check.
Anyone have a photo of one of these?

according to the drawings and user guide for the star coupler cabinet,
the rear door opened using hinges mounted on the side. My particular
door doesn't have these. It has a hole on each side of the bottom to be
placed on vertical bolts.

It is reminiscent of the front panel of a low cabinet holding a RM02 or a RK05. Except it
looks too tall and narrow. I have some photos if you would like.

Hi
I swung by the clubs cramped computer room and can safely say it is not
the rear of an RK07, TU81 or HSC90. Unfortunately I can't get to the
star coupler. Checking the garage, it's not an 11/44 or 11/23,73 either.
It looks familiar though..
