FWIWm that was a standard connector over here at one time. Made by Bulgin
IIRC< and used (amaszingly) for mains. It's not longer approved for mains
use (since you can unscrew the cap without using a tool and touch live
parts), but they're still very easy to find and not expensive.
So, how exactly did you solder that connection to repair the faulty
soldering station again?
Is thins like 'how do you test the valves in the valve tester' :-)
The answer, at least in my case, is a 'spare' iron (I keep) and some way
of powering it (bench supply, for example).
