Before you do any of this, make a note of what each one says and exactly where it was! If they're really old, and the glue has dried out, they may come off quite easily, with a little assistance from a scalpel blade or a thin knife, slid under the label. If they're not quite so dried out, white spirit or label remover may soften the glue enough for you to peel them off carefully. Try a corner of *one* first, in case your solvent makes the ink run.
