On May 6, 1970, The Hamilton Watch Company had a press conference at
which it showed the Pulsar Time Computer all-electronic LED watch. At
the time, they had precisely three working prototypes. They were so
expensive they put them in an 18-carat gold case, and sold them for
$1500.
