There really is nothing wrong with the plain old United
States Postal
Service. They are a bit more pricey and slower, but the boxes don't get to
the point where they need to be looked at by an insurance agent.
Always use the potal service when you can. I would probably use FedEx if you don't
like UPS. And Forward Air for the big stuff.

Never used them, personally, but FedEx Ground is what used to be called
RPS. They mainly do business-to-business delivery. They now do
residential delivery, but I don't know how they are with leaving stuff on
the porch, etc.

I've had terrible luck with Fedex ExpressSaver and Frieght service. They destroyed
several large ATM switches here at work, and a
number of large Suns.
Excellent luck with 1 and 2 day service, though..
