Subject: VMS 5.0 & stand alone backup
I just aquired a uVAXII with a RD54 and a TK50 drive
and I'm trying to
load
VMS. I don't remember the stand-alone backup
command to issue. I'm hoping
that someone can help.
I have two TK50 tapes that came with it. They are labeled:
VMS V5.0 BIN TK50
BINARY
and
VMS V5.0 BIN TK50
MANDATORY UPDATE
I can probably handle the update after I install VMS (something like
@SYS$UPDATE:something-or-other).
The first tape boots and takes me into stand-alone backup. At that point
I'm
lost. Any ideas?
Hi Bill,
the more or less general format is:
backup source: target:
in your case, it should be something like:
BACKUP/IMAGE/VERIFY TAPEDRIVE:VMS50.B/SAVE_SET YOURDISK:
where you should put the realnames of your tape drive, you disk & the name
of the save set.
The names of tape & disk you can see during boot.
hope it helps,
emanuel
