Many moons ago I taught myself Algol 68 using ALGOL 68C on a DECSYSTEM-20. I
would love to find a copy of this to install on SIMH if at all possible.
I have a vague recollection that it may have been on a DECUS tape, so I am
wondering if anyone has any such thing in their archives?

I'm interested as well - most probably it'll be found on a DECUS tape as it was
developed at Cambridge University (IIRC) hence the C in the name.
I've been reviving my skills using the Algol-68G compiler/interpreter which runs very
nicely on most modern systems (my experience is with OS-X).

As an aside, but related comment, and as an ardent fan of Algol and all its
derivatives, I would point to Glynn Webster's Algol W compiler too:

I would also note that we have still collectively have not managed to locate
much of the DECUS libraries; I would hope most of it is out there some where
still to be found, since many tapes were sent out over the years.

Can't help directly, but the Algol-68R system for the ICL1900 series,
running under a George 3 emulator, is relatively easy to find.

I was going to give this a fancy sig. with the appropriate collection of
'ref' s, but I can't find my little yellow book at the moment and I've
forgotten too much A68 to try without a reference (sic).

The complete DECUS libraries for the PDP-10 are available on the Toad-1 at
Living Computer Museum. Directories are world-readable. To get a listing,
vdirectory ps:<decus.*>
There are two parts, ps:<decus.lib10.*> and ps:<decus.lib20.*>. The
subdirectories of each are numbered in octal, because that's how they were
named on the DECUS system, so if you were looking for, say, program 149 in
the Tops-10 library, it's found in ps:<decus.lib10.0225>.
Tim Shoppa also has them on the Trailing Edge site.

I had a look through the Decus archive on the Toad-1 and unfortunately
turned up nothing. If that is the full DECUS archive then sadly my memory
did not serve me well and it can't have been on a DECUS tape.
