Sirs,
I'm looking for the "SCSI Bus & IDE Interface, protocols, Applications
&
Programming" book. Tried to buy it on amazon, and there are books from 0,01
(!!!) plus 3.99 shipping. Is there something a brazilian isn't used to, or
this book used is SO cheap?
Anyone has one around willing to sell for a fair price?

I think I heard or read somewhere that the Americas are dumping the used
books market? Want to get rid of old paper, or the like. I've got my fair
share of good books that way. I'm happy! :)

Why look a gift horse in the mouth? $1 used books are not uncommon on
ABE Books (part of Amazon Used).

I think its just no one wants a copy when much of the info is on the
web. The price of books is a like that of vintage computers, the price
seems to be very variable. Take look at this:-

No but at that price I might buy a new one! Its Perfect Bound and mine
is falling to pieces.

Don't get me started on used book prices
There are only a couple of buckets, really.
The big guys who come in and buy libraries and can warehouse millions of books
making money on 1 cent books on shipping, and the people trying to sell rare books for
hundreds of dollars who can afford to sit on a few thousand. Those both show up on abe
or bookfinder
The guys in the middle are goodwills or "friends of the library" groups who try
to sell
in the $10-100 range, mostly on eBay. They can make decent money if the person doing the
pricing is smart.
I gave up going to the monthly FOPAL sales because I got tired of people blocking the
isles
as they barcode check every book in the computer section to see if they can make money on
it.

and if you look on bookfinder there are no shortage of them for the cost of US domestic
postage
The problem is the cheap books will be brokered by the big guys who stick a big barcode
tag on the spine
that you can't take off easily. You also should look for one that says that it
hasn't been written in.
those tend not to be the ones for the cost of postage.
