I was running in a DOS box when doing the above. Since
then, I made a
diskcopy on the Compaq and went back to try reading it under win95 with the
same results. My guess is that win9x no longer supports the 8 sector format,
but I don't for sure. I might add that I was doing this with a HD floppy
drive, but I wouldn't think that would affect the reading of the disk.
Well, it might still be true. I think I remember a lot of trouble,
back when HD Drives where introduced, about compatibility when
reading old stuff. Basicly, Win95 (tested on a 95a) should be
able at least to recognice the media format and react acordingly.
