Once I did that, getting SRecord to compile was as easy as I'd been expecting, and it even worked and did what I wanted done. I expect that most folks running Linux/*BSD have installed or upgraded within the last two years and so have a sufficiently new version of gcc at this point, but I also expect that you (and other folks on this list) might not. -Frank McConnell
