cables, some of them have been eaten through. What plastic can I wrap the
cables in to avoid any more damage? Polythene wrap?
New kit seems to have just ordinary polythene bags around the cables.
Maybe something like freezer bags would work?
For lengths "out in the open", how about the spiral (I think they're
HDPE) cable protectors? They're used a lot in automotive
applications. For parts of cables going through bulkheads, where
space is tight, there is heat-shrink wrap tape that might do the job.
I've also seen cable protectors that have a "zipper" edge lengthwise,
so they can be slipped over a cable and then closed over it.
