Certainly, there are a lot of logic analyzsers (or
analysers, if you are English) floating around. I was
told by a guy who specializes in "refurbished" (i.e.
dusted off) test equipment that this is because a lot
of it is gov't surplus where they just grab the unit.
He also mentioned that a lot of university surplus has
partially blown pods because of carelessness - due to
the nature of what they do, not much protection on the
inputs.
I have a Tek 1230 which I was lucky enough to get some
pods with. I had another one w/o pods and GOOD LUCK on
getting schematics, etc on this stuff - it's a "black
art" proprietary sort of thing.

I don't hink that's the real problem. At the time of the Gould K100/K105,
both Gould and Tektronix did publish full service manuals for their
instruments, complete with schematics (I have the schematics for the
K100D, and I used a similar-vintage Tekky which had a similar manual).
Heck, Tektronix even published a service manual for the pod.
The problem is that the pods did contain custom circuitry, often as
ceramic hybrid circuits. And the 'service' was to replace a defective
hybrid. Needless to say, these hybrids are now unobtainable (although the
manuals are useful for working out kludges to replace them!).

Well, Espa?a is Spain, so I'd hazard a guess that "desde" here could be
translated "from", though (based on my French) I'd guess that it
etymologically is more like "from the".

The one big problem that I've found is that at some surplus operations
they take ALL the cables including the LA pods and dump them into one huge
lot. Usually some scrap metal operation buys that lot for the copper scrap
so the pods get trashed along with the wire. I ran into the same probelm
when I was looking for interface pods for the HP-85s, HP-9825s etc. FWIW I
ALWAYS look through the scrap wire bins when I go to the scrap/surplus
places (if they allow it). I nearly always find usefull items in their
including lots of O'scope probes. The people at the scrap/surplus
operations are too ignorant or too lazy to pull out the pods/probes and put
them with the items that they belong to.

Sheesh, I found a Tektronix pouch with the 1240 pods and plug-ins in it
but I haven't been able to find a 1240 or 1241 at a reasonable price!
