Hi,
My brother has requested to borrow a CD. So whilst
hunting around for it I came across his old walkman. However, I had not
realised that it still contained a battery in it. The walkman is over
15 years old, and since my brother moved out around 2002 it makes the
battery atleast 7 years old!

The reason I am emailing the group, is because a power adaptor (wall wart) was sat
underneath the walkman and has some brown paint-like marks on it. I am assuming this is
from the battery and am wondering what is the safest way to clean it off without ruining
the adaptor.
The adaptor is used to run some of our modified table-top games (which originally ran from
batteries, but have been modified so that they run from the adaptor instead).
