natively (vs scripted) plays smoothly on a 7.16MHz 68000.

OMG :)
I have Lemmings on the Megadrive, played a few levels at school (badly) on Acorn
Archemedes, and have (and completed) various versions on the Amiga.
I'm back in heaven... and perhaps this would suit the *cough* I-Pad *cough*
perfectly.
The only version I lack, and would love, is the Spectrum one... just to see purple
Lemmings :)

A 500MHz CPU to play Lemmings? The modern world is a
cold place.
I remember playing it on my first PC: A NEC UltraLite 286 LAPTOP with
CGA (or EGA?) grey LCD and a
20MB harddisk. The machine was ideal to play lemmings. The NiCd accu lasted some hours as
well. And
it had the same size as a current 14" laptop. I loved Lemmings! Was the only useful
application for
my Logitech serial mouse....
