Yes, you could also link in the 20mA loop receiver (if the board had
one), or use an external whatever-TTL converter (IIRC, the TTL-level UART
output is also on the Berg connector to use with an external level
converter).
WAS in the DL11-W manual, but you had to look
carefully to notice it.
I remember figuring it out from the printset...
