Hi,
Thank you for your replies, and the emails I received directly from those
learned people who assisted me.
I was setting the Mode Registers incorrectly, and I now have the 68661
running sweetly on an expanded SDK85 system.

At the peril of getting a brickbat shied in my direction, I wonder if
2400 bps is within the capabilities of SID and SOD on the 8085?
Never tried it, so I don't know if it'd work.
