I just came across your question about CMC. My personal knowledge is that it was a competitor of my company in 1968 when it came out with a minicomputer-based system with multiple keyboards to replace IBM keypunch machines. Two of its competitors were Inforex and Honeywell. Another competitor at the time was Viatron but that company didn't last long.
