I am working
to put up the pinouts I've received from Pete and Sam
(actually, Sam's may already be up...) and have also added an "incoming"
directory for people who are feeling philanthropic (and a little bored).
Incoming pinouts can go to:
One day I'll find time to type up all the PERQ pinouts (lets see... 5
boards at 200 pins/board + all the connectors ;-)).
I've got the PERQ 3a pinouts as a text file, which you're welcome to
have, but all the connectors are in the same file and I've not included
ascii-art showing where pin 1 is. If you can make use of it in that
format, I'll get it to you.
hardware "hacks" and some general
repair information. I've been trolling
Needless to say you (or anyone else) is welcome to archive anything I
post to the list. If I want to control who reads something, I don't post
it to a mailing list ;-)
The last thing I plan to add is a single
directory with nothing but FAQ's,
for all kinds of machines, concentrated in one place. As some have pointed
out lately, many of the questions that are asked here are easily answered
by the appropriate FAQ; it's just a matter of digging it up. After I get
I've got the classicPERQ faqs somewhere, if you can't find those. Ditto
an overview (as a plain text file) of the operation of the PERQ3a CPU
board. If you want them and can't find them elsewhere, I'll get them to
you...

Sounds good! I'm sure there's going to be more than a few future
collectors who will be glad you took the time to write this stuff down
(the repair stuff), not to mention any pinouts too. Anything at all that
you feel would make a good addition to a pinout/hack/repair site, you can
either email directly to me or upload to that ftp site.
Cheers,
