Just a note to say that the 1103 is what put Intel on the map
(IMHO). It's a 1Kx1 memory and was also used in the Alto. It
features an external "precharge" pin that was eliminated in later
versions of the chip. Count your blessings.
My HP9810 and Hp9830 are stuffed with the things (6K 16 bit words in the
latter case). I've had to repair some of the memory control circuitry too
-- half of it is level shifters between TTL levels and the 20V (or so)
levels of the 1103.
At least most later DRAMs used TTL levels for most of the signals.
