I'm working with some very old 8" HS media (doing data recovery) from a Lanier Word processor. It's still pretty early in the process, but it looks as if the AES folks used a 12-bit processor. It's just a wild guess based on some bit patterns I'm seeing. Can anyone verify this? I'm guessing that the year is about 1975/76 or so. Cheers, Chuck
