Hello Jim,
AFAIK, there is no separate 32 or 64 bit media. It all shipped as one
media pack. In my observation, Solaris never had the 32-64 bit issues
that I saw on a many platforms, such as AIX and linux.
OTOH, I am more concerned with your installation target.
I don't have extensive experience with Tadpoles, but my understanding
was that those systems typically shipped with hardware specific media,
specific to the unique hardware that they would be running on.
Hope this helps,
Jerry
I might mention that I for whatever reason archived much of the tadpole
patch info about 10 or 11 years ago. Packrat for software and hardware
both.
Also as mentioned, I found a list with some references and live members
who pointed where the archives have moved since
ftp.tadpole.com went
down. Most all of what I had matched that site, and
tadpole.com was my
original source anyway.
I will ask when I get to that project. I am hoping to use a physical
scsi chain on the external side of the systems to install, and run.
Something like a Sun 411 under a tadpole.
If someone by some miracle comes thru with a drive carrier (and the
connector) I may scheme to do something else more portable. Bring a
cable out thru the carrier to a scsi-ide adapter / 2.5" drive under the
thing. Who know.
I'm not that interested in them as artifacts, but as older, smaller than
the pizza box systems to run these sparc systems.
I'm still in material gathering mode, so all inputs are much appreciated.
thanks
