I have recently pulled my 5160 xt out of storage, but the powersupple
seems to have given up on me, have anyone tried to repair one of those
before.
Only trivial faults... But it's a _fairly_ conventional SMPSU, so it
shouldn't be too hard. I should have a hand-drawn schematic of the PSU in
my 5160.
If its powered up with load the fan spins up , but
there is a relay that
is tricked on a small vertial installed print, turning the whole thing
off.
The case of the powersupple is big enough that I could put a new
powersuple inside it with a bit for rewiring if it turns out to not be
repairable.
I would be suprised if it's not repairable...
Given tht it died when in storage, I strongly suspect dried-up
capacitors, particularly on the output side of the PSU. If you have an ESR
meter, check them. If not, then either replace all the electrolytics, or
get an ESR meter (it's very useful for fixing PSUs and monitors!)
