Actually, there's no such thing as a DB62. It's a DC62, and that's a clue
as to the bracket you need - namely the same one as for a DC37 (normal 37
pin D connector) which has the same shell size.
Well, if the DC37 has the same shell size as a DC62, then I get just get that
bracket. JDR Microdevices sells those.
DC37 brackets should be easy to obtain if the manufacturer has put the
connector where IBM specified it (most did). They're used on a lot of lab
I/O cards, the original PC floppy controller, etc. Such brackets are in
most of the UK component catalogues.
Oh, that might be a problem. This card is a homebrew card. Apparently,
the designer (where I got the card from) might have sent the designs to
be produced. Only two of these cards were ever fabricated.
Of course the other alternative is to get a blanking
plate type of
bracket and cut the hole in it. I had to do that for a DC37 connector
that was mounted a bit higher on the card than the IBM spec said.
I was thinking about doing that. I have a cheaper thin (tin-based) bracket
that is easy to cut. But for $0.99 it wasn't really worth doing it. Do you
have
the spec on where it should belong?
only carry brackets for DB25, DB9, and DB25/DB9
combos, but no DB62s.
Apparently, the DB62 is made by RS Semiconductors. Any takers????
Sure that's not 'RS Components'? They're a large electronics distributor
in the UK, and they house-brand a lot of their stuff. There is no
connection with Radio Shack, FWIW.
Maybe you are right. The guy who gave me the card said it was from a
UK-based
distributor names RS Semiconductors. Thanks for the info
