Hmm, this is something I'd like to find out too. I got ahold of an
older VAXStation (functional status unknown), and I was planning on
getting an OpenVMS hobbyist license for it once I got a monitor
rigged up and verify that it works. How does the whole licensing
system work, anyway? I've read the FAQ, and I'm not sure how one is
supposed to get ahold of the actual _software_. I just assumed that
they had some sort of a server that they would point you to when you
registered for the license.
From what I understand, you can 1) buy a copy from
somewhere like
Montagar that sells copies for $30, 2) use a copy you have from
somewhere else (already installed or ebay, for example), or 3) get a
copy from a "friend."
If you guys contact me off-list I might be able to help you out with
getting you media.
