software out there for NeXT hardware?
Most of the GNU stuff compiles under NeXTSTEP as the underlying system is
BSD on top of the Mach microkernel. There's a pretty decent archive of
old NeXT software around as well. The Peanuts archive is a decent place
to start.

NetBSD is also in the process of supporting the NeXT black hardware
systems with the NetBSD/next68k port. It only boots diskless right now,
but there has been some progress on SCSI.
